Central Pillar: Renaissance of the Jaidan Way

The Conservatory was first proposed eons ago by the Hero of Jaida, a man said to have united his people with other tribes and the Atlanteans to defeat an invading army during the Fosfe Incident. Since then, the battle of Fosfe and the lessons it taught have become enshrined in legend. Like with most legends, the lessons are lost and diluted with the passing of ages, so Garland Gafren and the Jaidan Way he perpetuated saw value in the differences between people when they share the same land, the same sky, and the same destiny. In the wake of an Atlantean Tragedy, The Conservatory was proposed by the enigmatic monks of the area, the Lucis Acolytes, as a way to foster communication and collaboration to forestall more unforeseen tragedy bound to find their secluded shores more often.

The Conservatory isn't just a place or a building, it's a group dedicated to a mutual understanding of all Jaidans, or even all Madeirans to prevent further calamity from befalling the region they all call home. It's a place to learn and share about one another in food, fashion, music, crafts, and more. Jaidans are more than begrudging neighbors, they are a complex family that protects one another to protect themselves. With the impending threat of the B'halian Empire, The Conservatory is more necessary than ever as a meeting place for Jaidans and Madeirans abroad to come together and thwart this impending threat.

Contrast Pillar: Not everybody is down with the program

The Jaidan Way has emerged in response to a change in dynamic between Atlanteans and Surfants. While historically they have left one another alone in most cases, Atlanteans still drive off any Surfants they see setting up residence on the shores of the Freshwater Sea and Mares Vidas. This was the case up until 5 years after The Fall, where Zero Venkage found himself the new owner of a timeless structure, unable to be moved by man or machine. He only had a hunch that achunk of The Crucible would produce any effect at all, but he was elated to watch a whole citadel grow from the mystic seed left by the Architects of Old.

Locals from the Gafren and the Caecilian warned him away from his new establishment, but his confidence kept him from heeding their warning. THen, one fateful night, the Atlanteans came to remove him, just as he was warned. Unfortunately, Zero learned of some of the dangers the Jaida Coast was infamous for. In the wake of that, founding/joining The Conservatory has left many with mixed feelings. Some are distrustful of the Lucis Acolytes influence, citing their enigmatic nature and philosophy. Others take issue with outsiders taking such an influential role in local sociopolitical conditions. Even with the differing opinions, all parties could agree that better communication on all fronts might have saved many lives.

Active Pillar: Preparing for what's to come

The Horsemen have revealed their face and nature to the world, working to enact subterfuges and subjugate Vescrutia with their dark machinations. It is said that the Return of the B'halian Empire is yet another subterfuge of their Heralds aimed at bringing Jaida and all its inhabitants to heel. The Conservatory and the Lucis Acolytes all have ideas on how to help, but it's up to you to figure out where to start.
